Elmvale Jungle Zoo Covid-19 Health & Safety Guidelines

Elmvale Jungle Zoos top priority is the health and well-being of our animals, our valued team as well as our guests. To ensure the health and safety of all, we have implemented new operational protocols in accordance with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit and the Government of Ontario guidelines. All regular Elmvale Jungle Zoo policies still apply. Guests that do not abide by any of these guidelines will be asked to leave.

As we warmly welcome back our guests, we ask that the following health and safety guidelines be abided by:

  • We ask that guests refrain from visiting if they are exhibiting flu-like symptoms, have been in close contact with someone exhibiting these symptoms or have been in close contact with someone who has returned from traveling within the last 14 days.
  • To facilitate social distancing, all admissions will require a reservation which will be completed online through our website HERE
  • Ticket sales will be limited in order to reduce capacity, eliminate line-ups, crowds in our parking lot as well as ensure group staggering throughout the Zoo. In order to abide by the Government of Ontario guidelines, we will be unable to facilitate longer visits.
  • As we are strictly weather permitting; payment will be processed upon arrival. In the event of reservation cancellations due to weather, guests will be advised through the contact information provided at the time of booking.
  • The admissions counter has been equipped with sanitizer and protective Plexiglas. High-touch surface areas will be cleaned frequently.
  • The Zoos path is now UNIDIRECTIONAL, meaning guests will be required to keep to the right along the trails to ensure a safe physical distance from others. Signage is posted along the trails to guide the direction of foot-traffic.
  • Sanitization stations are set up at the entrance, exit as well as in multiple areas throughout the Zoo. Additional sanitation protocols will be in place for the cleaning of our washrooms.
  • The following amenities will be closed in order to reduce person-to-person contact: Gift Shop, Snack Bar, Educational Presentations as well as the goat Petting Area will be closed.
  • High-touch surfaces such as picnic tables will not be available for public use. LUNCHES ARE NOT PERMITTED AS REQUESTED BY THE SIMCOE MUSKOKA DISTRICT HEALTH UNIT. Pre-wrapped peanut free snacks (cookies, crackers, gummies, cheese strings) are allowed. Please feel free to bring drinks for you and your guests. Pop/Water machines are available at Entrance and Exit, machines take loonies and toonies.
  • In accordance with physical distancing measures, re-entry will not be permitted.
  • Please ensure any used personal protective equipment is placed into the garbage. Ei. Cleaning wipes

Elmvale Jungle Zoo is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for everyone. We are closely monitoring government announcements and will be making adjustments to our guidelines in accordance with this information. We understand that these are unprecedented times and we are doing everything we can to ensure an organized and enjoyable experience. Through the shared responsibility of infection prevention practices, we may all enjoy an outdoor Exciting and Educational Adventure this season.
